The Arizona Matsuri Festival, a two day festival celebrating Japanese Culture, happens this weekend, Feb. 21 and 22 at the Heritage and Science Park in downtown Phoenix.

The annual festivities included a quiet lyrical prelude this year – Haiku. The centuries old art form is now highlighted in the Arizona Matsuri’s Haiku Expo.

The Chandler Symphony has grown a lot in the past 22 years: first as an orchestra at Mesa Community College, then as the San Marcos Symphony, and then in 2006, the Chandler Symphony, serving over 10,000 patrons a year.
