Grammy-nominated violinist Elmira Darvarova, former concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, returns to Arizona for several notable performances this month, including the 2016 Red Rocks Music Festival Opener, "Music from Five Centuries" with Howard Wall, french hornist of the New York Philharmonic on August 26 and 27. The versatile artist will also perform on September 3 with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, a master of the sarod,a lute-like stringed instrument of India, at the Tempe Center for the Arts.
